Update 7/18/08: New baby pics have been posted. See them here . =D

Update 6/30/08: BABIES are here!! On June 26th Kaegen gave birth to 4 beautiful healthy girls and the following day (June 27th) Nala followed suit, giving birth to 2 boys and 2 girls. Both waiting lists are full.

Update 3/05/08: If you have adopted ratties from me and would like their pics put up in the photo album, please send them to me. =) Be sure to let me know it's ok to put them on the site. I won't put your pics up without permission.

13 Moons Rattery (13MR) is located in Forest Grove, Oregon but generally I meet people in the Hillsboro area for pick up. We do not ship at this time.

13 Moons Rattery is run by myself, Tracie, and my 17 year old daughter, Morgan, with help from my three other children, Lukas, Raven and Michael. We specialize in raising and breeding healthy, happy and good tempered Dwarf fancy rats. Health and temperment are our number one priority. The colors that we strive for are American Blue, Mink/Cinnamon, Russian Blue, and Burmese/Agouti Burmese. I'm working with other breeders to bring in Black Eyed Siamese, Black Eyed Creams, and Pearl into the rattery soon. Markings that are our main focus at this time include, Self, Variegated, Dalmation, Downunder, and Roan, as well as shaded (Siamese and Burmese). We will also have Merles once we get Pearl ratties into the rattery. Body and hair types include Both Standard and Dumbo ears, Standard, Velveteen, Rex, Harley/Satin coats, and once in a while Hairless. Ever since we brought our first Dwarfie boy, ABRY Oops, home in the spring of 2006 we have fallen head over heels for these guys and gals. Oops is currently one of the oldest boys in our rattery and still in excellent health and temperment. Although we will not be breeding Dwarves exclusively they will be the main focus so Standard sized litters will be fewer as time goes on. Dwarf females have considerably smaller litters (generally 3-6 babies) so getting on a waiting list early will help insure  future 13MR baby(s) in your family.

Showing: Because I am so busy caring for the human and rattie family I am rarely able to make it to shows. I am, however, involved in the local rat community, RatsPacNW (a great yahoo group - http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/RatsPacNW/ ). Even with my absence, I do have ratties out there who have won in RatsPacNW shows. In particular, 13MR Frankie owned by Brandon of tBBR. Frankie won Solid kitten reserve at Ratsravaganza 2007 and BIS Solid at 2008 Rat-a-Rama. I hope to be able to attend shows more often in the future.

Rescue: Although I do not personally do rescue, I almost always have rescued ratties living with me, I help out in local rescues in whatever way I can and highly support the dedicated rescuers who spend much of their lives saving the lives of countless ratties from bad situations. I encourage everyone to adopt, foster, volunteer or donate to local rescue oganizations. A very wonderful small animal rescue in the pacific northwest is Little Mischief Rescue located in Vancouver BC. There are rattie trains coming and going from there to Washington, Oregon and Idaho quite often.
