Ears :

 Standard Ears: (Du/Du or Du/du)

Tulip shaped and held erect over the head

 Dumbo Ears: (du/du)

Saucer shaped held low on the sides of the head

* Dumbo ears are a simple recessive gene.

Eyes :

Dominant Black Eyes: Be/be or Be/Be

*Be/ Shows on Siamese [ch/ch], Himalayan [c/ch] and Albino [c/c] rats.

*Be/Be will result in all Black eyed (Be/be) offspring when bred to a non Black eyed rat.

 Red/Ruby: Red eye Dilute/R.E.D [r/r]

*[R/r] = Black eyes carrying RED

*[R/R] = Homozygous Black eyes. Will not produce RED offspring.

 Pink: Pink Eye Dilute/PED (pp)

*[P/p] = Black eyes carrying PED

*[P/P] = Homozygous Black eyes. Will not produce PED offspring

Odd Eyes: Caused by white spotting such as H(e)

Tail :

 Standard:

Tailless/Manx: ("Fist" is not a good example of a tailless. There should be no tail nub.

Tailless/Manx is still an undetermined gene(s) There appear to be both dominant and recessive forms that work in combination with other undetermined genes .

Body :

 Standard

Dwarf: [dw/dw] Pictured here is a one year old dwarf male next to an 8 mth old standard sized male.

*Dwarfism is a simple recessive gene.
